The Redress Movement is seeking a strategic, mission-driven Director of Development to support its groundbreaking work redressing deep and longstanding systems of segregation.
The Director of Development will manage all aspects of the organization’s fundraising and development, ensuring it has the critical resources to take direct action and work in deep partnership with communities. This role will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing a robust development strategy focused on grant writing, the stewardship of existing major donors, and establishing relationships with new donors.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Development will work closely with the Redress Movement’s leadership and Board of Directors to leverage networks, cultivate new relationships, and facilitate donor engagement opportunities. The Director will be a thought partner to the Executive Director in planning and funding the operations and strategic growth of The Redress Movement.
The ideal candidate is a creative, mission-centered leader who is passionate about redressing the harm caused by housing segregation. The Director will be a talented communicator who can build relationships with individual and institutional donors, develop systems and processes around donor stewardship, and bring a proven record of thoughtful leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports the organization’s ambitious vision and goals, in partnership with the Executive Director
- Cultivate relationships, facilitate engagement opportunities, and solicit contributions from new and existing donors, progressive organizations, and foundations
- Lead donor prospecting and identify grant opportunities that align with the mission and values of The Redress Movement
- Oversee the comprehensive grant process, including reporting and compliance, in collaboration with key staff
- Collaborate with The Redress Movement’s leadership and Board of Directors to establish and strengthen relationships
- Drive fundraising best practices, including systems utilization, prospecting, donor reporting, data review, and donor communications
- Evaluate and continuously develop strategies to effectively drive and grow the organization’s fundraising portfolio
- Collaborate with staff to identify and collect compelling content for fundraising materials, including donor reports and grant proposals
Key Qualifications and Attributes
The Redress Movement recognizes that the Director of Development could have a unique background and a wide variety of previous experiences. The organization seeks candidates who are passionate leaders with a track record of accomplishments and who ideally bring many of the following qualifications and attributes to the role:
- Demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion and to The Redress Movement’s overall mission to end systemic and structural racism in the United States
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising or a related leadership role, especially in a 501(c)3 organization
- Demonstrated success in securing grant awards and major gifts and growing and managing a fundraising portfolio
- Experience building strong relationships with institutional and individual donors and prospects
- Experience overseeing the entire grants process, including writing grant proposals and reports
- A strong command of fundraising best practices and demonstrated success building processes and donor management systems to track and steward funders
- Outstanding and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to successfully tailor messaging for different audiences
- Excellent listening skills, and an ability to engage with a diverse group of donors and prospects in a thoughtful manner
- Sound judgment, trustworthiness, and the ability to manage confidential information
- Excellent project management skills with a strong eye for detail and a focus on results
Salary, Location, and Travel
The expected salary range for this position is $110,000-$120,000.
This position can be located anywhere in the United States. The Director of Development will be expected to travel as needed.

The Redress Movement (“Redress”) seeks an experienced finance professional to join Redress’ remote team. This Director of Finance role is fully remote, and will support Redress’ efforts across the country to remedy residential segregation.
Qualifications and Position Overview:
Our ideal candidate will possess accounting, financial management, and grant tracking and compliance experience. The right person for this position will have connections to the ways in which discriminatory housing policies and practices have segregated communities across the country, as well as a demonstrated interest in civil rights or housing justice issues. Additionally, the role requires substantial experience in fiscal management, system building and the creation of sound financial policies and procedures. The Director of Finance, together with the Executive Director, is responsible for driving organizational sustainability, and will also be part of the organizational leadership team, responsible for planning for Redress’ future growth and sustainability.
The Director of Finance will report to the Executive Director.
Required Experience and Characteristics:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the nonprofit sector;
- Strong analytical ability and critical thinking skills, as well as attention to detail and strong written communication skills;
- An understanding of, and commitment to, the nonpartisan mission and goals of the Redress Movement, and to racial and social justice;
- A collaborative disposition, patience, and flexibility;
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software;
- Ability to build relationships of trust and mutual respect with a broad range of people;
- Resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems;
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently alone and within teams; self-starter and self-directed while committed to communication and collaboration;
- Availability and willingness to travel as necessary.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead long-term financial planning; produce financial reports and conduct financial analysis and forecasting;
- Lead Board Finance Committee and/or financial strategy meetings;
- Provide financial updates at Board meetings, including preparing financial reports, metrics and visuals/graphics to help facilitate Board decision-making;
- Prepare and provide monthly bank account reconciliations to Executive Director;
- Manage all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable;
- Process and ensure accuracy of biweekly payroll;
- Lead grant accounting function, including preparing funder financial reports and budgets, in coordination with Development Director, as needed;
- Create and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls;
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls;
- Complete and file yearly Form 990;
- Serve as liaison to financial audit firm, manage relationship with financial auditor(s), and manage compliance with audit requirements, including providing information to auditor(s) as requested;
- Manage all financial aspects of grant reporting and compliance, including creating policies and systems as necessary (together with the Executive Director), and ensuring compliance with internal timekeeping and grant reporting procedures;
- Negotiate finance-related vendor contracts, and maintain relationships; ● Other duties as necessary
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000. Placement on the pay scale is based on the following factors: years of relevant work experience, beyond the minimum qualifications the role requires; relevant undergraduate degree (or higher) or certification received; bilingual language skills; and connections to the community.

This Campaign Organizer role is based in Denver, Colorado, and will support Redress’ efforts across the country to remedy residential segregation.
Our ideal candidate will possess organizing and campaign experience that will lend itself to leading local strategies to redress residential segregation. The right person for this position will have deep connections
to Latinx and Spanish-speaking communities, and some familiarity with the ways in which discriminatory housing policies and practices have segregated communities across the country, as well as a demonstrated interest in civil rights or housing justice issues. Additionally, the role involves campaign management,
strategic planning, data entry, coalition building, and mobilizing large numbers of people. Please note that our focus will be on demonstrated experience and success, not just years of experience.
The Senior Campaign Organizer will report to the National Organizing Director.
Required Experience:
● Spanish-language fluency
● A minimum of 2 years experience in organizing, including substantial demonstrated experience
leading campaigns at the local, state or national level;
● Availability to work evening or weekend hours as needed;
● Strong analytical ability and critical thinking skills, as well as attention to detail and strong written
communication skills;
● An understanding and commitment to the nonpartisan mission and goals of the Redress Movement;
● Familiarity with digital organizing tools including e-mail, call and text tools.
● Familiarity with tech tools and suites designed to support organizers and campaigns.
● Availability and willingness to travel as necessary
Preferred Experience:
● Experience working in directly impacted communities and a commitment to social and racial justice organizing, as well as fluency and understanding of the challenges facing Black, Latinx, and other communities of color, young people of color, immigrant communities, and low-and moderate income families;
● Experience working with organizational membership, volunteers and/or community organizers;
● Existing relationships with key external constituencies and/or policy makers from diverse
backgrounds and ideological positions;
● Experience working with remote colleagues;
● Familiarity with social media;
● A collaborative disposition, patience, and flexibility;
● Ability to build relationships of trust and mutual respect with a broad range of people; and
● Relevant understanding of the housing crisis and its impact on Black and brown communities;
The Campaign Organizer’s duties and responsibilities will include:
● Organizing communities, including volunteer management and collaborating with Redress’ Digital Organizer, while ensuring that interested Charlotte-based residents are moved through Redress’ engagement ladder;
● Supporting facilitation of regular meetings of Denver’s Redress Roundtable, as well as supporting recruitment efforts for new Roundtable members as needed;
● Working in collaboration with like-minded organizations to build a redress-focused base in Denver;
● Reviewing, recommending key legislative strategies;
● Providing direct campaign strategic planning, including research and campaign design, and
support plan implementation;
● Designing and facilitating campaigns, and organizing trainings for Redress affiliates and their members;
● Collaborating with other Redress teams as needed;
● Producing fundamental organizing and campaign-building tools, including research and policy
briefs and digital communications, to support Redress partners as needed
● Establishing and maintaining partnerships with relevant organizations and coalitions to move relevant campaigns;
● Supporting program fundraising, as needed;
● Other duties as necessary.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $72,000-$75,000, with the minimum salary representing the inclusion of a $2,500 language skill bonus.

The Redress Movement is a newly formed non-profit organization, working to organize local communities to repair the harm caused by intentional policies that segregate communities. The Redress Movement’s work centers around educating, mobilizing, shifting the narrative, and winning redress victories. The Redress Movement’s starting point is housing justice, but we work in solidarity with others who are facing the facts of history, redressing harms of the past, and healing our communities by dismantling the barriers that divide us.
