John P. Comer
John P. Comer, MPA is a Senior Organizer with 20 years experience around housing and criminal justice issues. John has organized in various cities across the country, where he built neighborhood organizations from the ground-up through empowering residents in various communities. Some of his most impactful work includes designing and implementing the grassroots strategy to restore voting rights to formerly incarcerated individuals in Maryland, as well as creating the outreach model for public housing residents who endured years of harassment from maintenance staff – This led to a $9 million settlement for more than 40 residents across the city. He has also led efforts to develop the current city-wide trauma informed strategy, while serving in a leadership role at the Baltimore City Health Department. Thereafter, Comer founded The Architects of Justice, which focuses on leadership development, legislative lobbying and training. John is a proud husband, father, and graduate of North Carolina Central University.
